Virtual Sounds Music Festival

The Virtual Sounds Festival was held during the Covid lockdown. It was impossible to have an in-person festival, so it was moved on-line.

After the festival ended, I created a short film to illustrate what they had achieved and how well it had gone.

The film needed to show that there were multiple stages running at the same time and that the event was very interactive. The viewers could talk to the artists and to each other in the Live Chat.

I was given more than 20 hours of Webcam quality footage and had to find some way to make it work. I wanted to show as many artists as possible, so I had to find ways to show more than one screen at a time. I thought that adding a voice over or a music track would clash with the music of the artists’, so I only used audio from the footage available and found ways to mix them together.

There was a lot of really great music, so the biggest challenge was cutting it down to short moments.
